Though he's been drawing since he left the womb, and animating since they made the first Wacom tablet with a scuzzy port, Ben truly began his adventures in animation while attending New York University. After spending several years on the animation floor of the Tisch School of the Arts, Ben finally found an outlet for his love of both hopeless high school romances and underground ska shows with a film called She She She She's A Bombshell. The animated short, which he wrote, voiced and drew by his lonesome, went on a successful festival run. winning "Best College Student Animation" at the Nashville Film Festival, and being hand picked for the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival's "Animated New York" selection by famed independent animator Bill Plympton.

Excited to continue animating, but depressed by the prospected of drawing any more animation by himself, Ben teamed up with former classmate Matt Burnett and created the animation studio For Tax Reasons. With their powers combined they embarked on an epic endeavor; a short called IM IN UR MANGER KILLING UR SAVIOR. With it's skewed take on niche nerd humor, IM IN UR MANGER became a small internet sensation- and with the help of sites like Channel Frederator and Boing Boing, established For Tax Reasons on the internets.

Today, Ben continues to work under the For Tax Reason name; creating comedic short films, primarily for the ongoing web series Ronin Dojo Community College DX. He also works on a variety of animation and motion graphics for television, and blogs and draws whenever he can't sleep. Which is often.
