The time for Genericon is upon us!

If you’re lucky enough to be in Troy, New York come by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for Genericon! Matt Burnett and myself (aka For Tax Reasons) will be hosting two panels:

Friday @ 6:15pm- For Tax Reasons: LIVE AND IN YOUR FACE (DCC 318)

We’ll be screening cartoons, sharing anectodes, answering questions and finally addressing the rumors that Matt and I are, in fact, time traveling robots. Included as a special bonus: a showing of a never before released Ronin Dojo cartoon!

Saturday @ 12pm- It’s Animation, Stupid! (CII 3051)

Matt and I will share our thoughts on independently producing cartoons, navigating the creative process and showcasing work through film festivals and the web. Bring your animation queries! We shall provide the answers. . . or trail off incoherently before changing the subject to early 90s cartoon shows we enjoyed. Exo-Squad!

Hey everyone. Couple of small For Tax Reasons news items to report. First off, WE FINALLY BROKE A MILLION VIEWS!

Our first and most famous cartoon, IM IN UR MANGER KILLING UR SAVIOR, has over a million views. Wow, and it only took. . . 2 years.

In other awesome internet news, this dude Reedynn on Youtube, posted a video of himself skateboarding with his dog. Oh and did we mention he’s wearing his sweet RONIN DOJO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DX T-SHIRT! Yeah, Matt and I were super excited to see this. The downside to releasing content on the internet is not being able to really connect face to face with any fans. So it always amazes us to see when a fan exist in real life, and isn’t just a sterile, voiceless number. But numbers are still important. 1 MILLION!

Depending on when you’re reading this, I added a new look to the For Tax Reasons site. I made a little pixel art version of our logo and redesigned a new banner around it. You can read about it in my most recent blog post, which also gives a small update on the progress we’re making updating Ronin Dojo Community College DX heads for HD. Check it out. There’s also a new drawing of some fun ladies in different outfits.
